The animals are well adapted to dry climate and subsist on poor quality food(stubble grazing) during the long dry summer period by mobilizing their energy reserves(fat tail).

The breed is known for its longevity.
Special characteristic of product
The milk of this breed is good for halloumi production, a local cheese. Meat from lambs is tasty with less fat, since the latter is deposited mainly in the tail.
