There are three innerbreed types in the breed: Askanian breed type of polycarpous black Karakul sheep, Askanian breed type of grey Karakul, Bukovinian type of Karakul breed.

At lamb slaugtering at 4 months the weight of carcass is 12-13 kg, dressing percentage 47-48%. At 9-months slaughtering: 18-20 kg and 48-50% respectively.
Specific reproductive characteristic
The breed originated to increase the twinning rate.
Special characteristic of product
Milk has 18-20 % of dry matter, 7-9 % of fat, 5-7 % of protein. Lams give the most valuable pelts: blue, silver and gray of ribbed and flat group. Karakul pelt of lambs. Cheeses: Roquefort, brynza (mild cheese), kashkaval.
