The cock of this breed has a prolonged crow. The tone of the Koeyoshi crow is deep and hoarse, and it continues for about 15 seconds. They are black-breasted.

Description of origin
Although controversial, it is generally thought that Koeyoshi derives from a cross between Shamo (Japanese Game Bantam) and Tomaru. In 1937 this breed was designated as natural monument by the Japanese Government.
