Description of origin
The Cheurfa belongs to the Atlas Brown branch. The distribution area of the Atlas Brown covers all of North Africa and whose ancestor would be the Bos primigenius mauritanicus.
Location within country
The Cheurfa lives on the edge of forests and in the lakeside and coastal areas of El-Tarf and Annaba, where the majority of the population is located. It is also present in the regions of Guelma, Skikda, Jijel and Sétif.
