Description of origin
Developed by the Bezuidenhout family (south-west Free State) from Ronderib Afrikaner and wooled Persian crosses to produce a hardy dual purpose (mutton and coarse wool) type. Wooled Persian was derived from Blackhead Persian-Merino crosses.
