The Lang Hong pig resembles the Mong Cai in appearance and performance. However, there has not yet been an attempt to assess any relation between the breeds

The breed is well adapted to live in the local dry and barren land. The animals are well adapted to temperatures ranging from 8° C to 30° C (winter to summer) and feedstuff with poor nutritional value.
