Ba xuyens were cross-bred pig beetwen black pigs and roan pigs from Hai Nam island. First they were brought to Hau giang area, then were crossed with some French pigs: Craonais, Berkshire, Tamworth...in the end they becomes Ba Xuyen pigs
Adaptability to specific environment
The breed is adapted to the wet and muddy soils and the tropical climate of the Mekong River Delta in southern Viet Nam.
