Description of origin
Sztum horses were developed in the Warmia, Powisle and Pomorze Gdanskie region in the first half of the 19th century. It originated from crossing between the local mares and cold-blooded stallions such as Ardennes, Belgian (Rhenish and Danish) and Breton.
