The animals are reported to have a high tolerance to bad climate and tough tropical conditions (wet and hot). They can live on high lands with a slope of 50 to 60 degrees and at altitudes of 1 500 m asl.

The Burmese Gaur is the third largest animal after the rhino and elephant. It feeds mainly on natural grasses and leaves from trees.

Description of origin
The Gaur is the largest of the Asiatic bovids. Two subspecies are recognised, B. g.gaurus (India, Nepal) and B. g. laosiensis (Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and West Malaysia).
